BVE routes and trains

The following are BVE2 routes which have been converted (where necessary) to csv format and processed so that they will operate in BVE4.  They are NOT new routes and there are no new graphics.  The copyright of the original routes and objects remains with the original authors, and I make no claim to original content whatsoever.  The processing that I've done is solely to make the routes and trains work in BVE4.  I'm working on contacting all the original developers to credit them properly, and of course the original copyright statements are still there in all the train files.  For now, I'll just say a big "thank you" to all the people whose work has let me achieve much more in the time I have available than I could have by doing everything from scratch!

Currently, I have the following:

The routes:

Charing cross to Gillingham.  3 trains, 1 route.  As ever, the trains need installing separately.
To install this route you will need the original BVE2 route and SR V2 sounds already installed.
The timetable (not present in BVE2) is in C:\Program Files\mackoy\BVE4\Railway\Object\New Southern\timetables
If I've got the archive right, then the files should end up in the right places if you extract it to C:\, if not, you'll have to shunt 'em manually.
**Update**[12/07/07-20:35] added lighting controls for the tunnels to the 3 routes, when used with the BVE4 versions of the trains you should get night panel effect in the tunnels!
**Update**[27/12/07] reconfigured signalling and AWS to BVE4.  Currently the route is WIP and the only route is for the class 455.
**Update**[08/03/08] installed door and guard beacons so that door interlocks and so on will work on suitably-equipped trains.
Route files for 421_4cig, cl455 and cl455 un-refurbished, and the timetable file.
self-extracting zip, the files should go to default BVE4 locations if you let it extract to C:\ as default.

further updates should be along eventually, including other diagrams and winter scenery, and hopefully some other routes.

421cig_bve4

Not much point in having this here any more, Steve's one is much better and is at bveroutes-trains along with the unrefurbished 455.
BR_class73e_bve4
This is the original BVE2 version with the following additions:  panel2.cfg, night time images for suitable BVE4 routes.
In addition, I've doubled the image sizes, and using the extra resolution I've cleaned up the images especially of the instruments.
Apart from that, the images are much the same as the BVE2 version.  As for the 421, it doesn't have panel.cfg, and the AWS etc. are equally non-functional.
The archive should install corrcetly if extracted to c:\

class 319 dual-voltage EMU

This is the original BVE2 version with added night images and panel2.cfg for bve4.
I've increased the image sizes as with the class 73.  I'm not entirely happy with the brake dial - the needle that it was using didn't suit it and the one I've put there instead is not quite right either.  Also, some of the images are a bit "rough", but it's gonna take too long to work on it.
The sound quality on the AC one sounds a bit iffy to me, although I've no idea what a real 319 on AC sounds like...
Archives should work extracted to c:\.

Amercian F40

This is from the Blue Ridge scenario.  Resized and minor image tidying, added night images and panel2.cfg.
The train formation has been edited to make it approximate 8 MK2 carriages, and the acceleratrions slightly increased to reflect the lighter train weight.
Converted the train.dat to 2000000 format and grip factor of 0.4
Sounds are quite nice on this one.  The needle on the "power" meter is a bit shifty, sorry.
Install to c:\ as usual.
**Update** [21/7/07]: Removed the traction control as I doubt it's prototypical - watch out for wheelspin as it's more or less unlimited.
Altered the maximum speeds in the various power settings to make them more realistic - it'll now just get over 100 mph on the level.
Also done a double-headed vesrion - same files, more acceleration, slightly more grip and a bit more braking.  It goes a touch faster flat out, too :-)
**Update** [21/7/07.22:30] Added AWS and TPWS.  Credit to Simon G. for the plugin and to all the people whose work I looked at to see how to make it work, especially 240Diverter whose config files for the class 50 are nicely annotated so you can see what does what!  If anyone wants my cute glow-in-the-dark TPWS panel for a project, I'm more than happy to send it.  It's implemented as a separate mini-panel with day and night images which you turn on as a "PilotLamp" on layer 2, with the button images on layer 3.  Same applies to my sunflower which appears in the top left - the housing is a separate image on which the various working images are overlaid.

The panel images alluded to above can be had here.  Include the panel in your panle2.cfg on the layer above the base image and put the illuminated button images in the next layer up when they're active...

Latest project - the watch.

As mentioned in TrainsimCentral.  A well-used looking large-dial pocket watch to incorporate in your cabs.  Included are day and night images, the dial background glows blue-green in the dark.  Instructions and sample code in the readme_watch file.  Feel free to use it in any project, you don't have to seek my explicit permission but it would be nice if you acknowledge the authorship.
